My Review: Peter Jackson recreates the mega epic King Kong and lemme tell you it was really worth the 6 month long anticipation & the three hour long duration of the movie! Everyone must be familiar with the mammoth ape since its been featured in dozens of movies and mentioned in thousands. The direction and visual effects are absolutely stunning with a bunch of Spielberg's dinosaurs also featured in the movie. The action is endless and will keep you on the edge of your seats all time long. Includes some emotion provoking scenes in which the story will actually make you feel pity fur the mighty beast. Naomi Watts is the damsel who King Kong falls for. King Kong is indeed a legend and Peter Jackson did no less for making this film a legend!

Bruce Almighty

Title: Bruce Almighty
Genre: Comedy / Romance
Duration: 101 minutes
Release Date: 23rd May, 2003
Date of Viewing: 10th December, 2005
Venue: Home
U.S. Box Office: $242 million
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis: Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey) is a local Eyewitness News TV reporter in Buffalo, New York, best known for doing human interest stories - which makes everyone happy but him. Bruce would much rather be replacing the soon-to-retire anchorman. Essentially, Bruce is disconnected with everything in his life and rarely misses an opportunity to complain about it. He has a loving girlfriend, Grace (Jennifer Aniston), who runs a day care center and adores Bruce in spite of his negativity. Bruce is handed a great opportunity when he's asked to do the 23rd anniversary of Niagra Falls' famed Maid of the Mist boat, which will air live during sweeps. But the mist hits the fan when it's announced on-air - just before Bruce goes live - that the co-anchor position, about to be vacated, is going to Bruce's superficial rival. In front of millions of viewers, Bruce has an on-camera meltdown, punctuated by a four-letter word not yet cleared for network television. On this worst day of Bruce's life, he's fired from the station, beaten up by a gang of toughs, and his car is vandalized. Furious, Bruce rails and rages against the Lord for his rotten luck - which is followed by a curious set of signs, one of which leads him to an old building called Omni Presents, Inc. There, Bruce meets a janitor who reveals himself to be who he really is - God! He's heard Bruce's complaints and now has an offer for the choleric newscaster - his job. By endowing Bruce with all his powers, God challenges him to take on the job and see if he can do any better!

My Review: Every Jim Carrey movie is a class all thanks to his amazingly super-funny spine-tingling act. He was great in The Mask, better in Ace Ventura and even better here in Bruce Almighty. The movie is 95% hilarious with a little twist of emotion-filled scenes that amount for the remaining 5%. The actress opposite to Jim is the beautiful Jennifer Aniston. The main motive of the movie is to convey that if you feel unlucky its not because god isn't listening to you... But in fact god's got so many prayers to answer that it takes a little more than required to get through your wishes. Wow! What a stupid logic! But anyway I loved the movie and I give it a 5/5. Check it out!

The Exorcism Of Emily Rose

Title: The Exorcism Of Emily Rose
Genre: Suspense / Horror
Duration: 114 minutes
Release Date: 9th September, 2005
Date of Viewing: 6th December, 2005
Venue: Theatre
U.S. Box Office: $75 million
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis: Based on the true 1976 case of German student Anneliese Michel, 19-year-old college freshman Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter) has visions of devilish faces and experiences constant convulsions. After much dispute, the Catholic Church officially recognized her demonic possession. Emily's story is told in flashbacks amid a courtroom drama, wherein Father Richard Moore (Tom Wilkinson), the man who performed the exorcism, is accused of negligence resulting in Emily's death. The trial shows his tough-as-nails lawyer, Erin Bruner (Laura Linney), doing her damnedest to clear him of any and all charges.

My Review: The movie's kinda slow and quite emotional, as things open up slowly and steadily gripping the audience with chills and fear... not that scary anyway. But the storyline is awesome and Carpenter (the possessed girl) has acted really well indeed. Now in the trial, the case is looked upon in either ways - a scientific approach to Emily's condition as well as a religious one!
And what more, the title says that its based on a true story. Amazing chillin' movie... check it out!
